Ro-Ro Ferries Being Prepared for the Kuryk–Azerbaijan Route

Representatives of Port Kuryk - CEO Yerkin Nygmetov and Acting Executive Director for Marketing and Logistics Damir Shushakov - visited a shipyard in the Tuzla district of Istanbul to review the progress of the modernization of Kazakhstan’s Ro-Ro ferries.

Representatives of Port Kuryk - CEO Yerkin Nygmetov and Acting Executive Director for Marketing and Logistics Damir Shushakov - visited a shipyard in the Tuzla district of Istanbul to review the progress of the modernization of Kazakhstan’s Ro-Ro ferries.

During the visit, the port representatives inspected the vessel, assessed the current stage of reconstruction, and held negotiations with shipowners regarding the further operation of the fleet on the route between Port Kuryk and the ports of Azerbaijan.

It was noted that the arrival of the first modernized ferry at Port Kuryk is expected in the third quarter of 2026. This will improve the efficiency of cargo vehicle handling and increase cargo transshipment volumes through Port Kuryk.
