The history of the development of the Kuryk ferry complex

Port Kuryk was created as part of President’s message "Nurly Zhol - The Way to the Future" dated November 11, 2014 in terms of making Kazakhstan a largest business transit regional hub, as well as within the framework of the "New Silk Road“ project.

The port of Kuryk is located on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, south of the port of Aktau and is located in a natural bay, in a bay that provides more favorable weather conditions for loading and unloading operations, in particular, wagon roll-on and roll-off operations. The port is able to handle car and rail ferries all year round.

The vertical planning of the territory with the construction of facilities for the first start-up complex of the port of Kuryk began in the spring of 2015.

On December 6, 2016, during the National Teleconference with the participation of the Head of State, the facilities of the first launch complex of the port of Kuryk were launched.
